What do you think of when you hear the word “retirement”? Usually that conjures up anything but images of youth who travel, take on projects showing community and global responsibility, and who are sincere in their desires to give back something of value to others. In the words of entrepreneur, Michael Dunlop, “21 is the new 60.” Michael is the webmaster of Retire@21 a site that is full of great interviews, and resources for the young, as well as the young at heart. A few of the interviews I have gone through so far include those familiar to me such as Yaro Starak, Cameron Johnson and Darren Rowse. Others included Josh Buckley, Timothy Sykes and Thilak Raj Raonames, names I read for the first time.
Reading about a forward thinking leader from the seventies focused on transforming our lives, these young people impressed me because they’re actually living the transformations. Transformation is something that’s been on my mind for quite a while lately. So much in our world has changed… and in very dramatic ways. Lately I’ve been looking at my son a great deal, at his youth and exuberance, his thirst for knowledge and zest for life. Okay, so it makes me feel ancient, but at the same time, it makes me realize how important it is to live in the space you’re in.
It’s been a while since I’ve posted but thanks to those of you who
stuck around, emailed and continue to share my blog thoughts with
others.
All the well wishes during my recent health and life”opportunities” were also appreciated.
This respite helped me realize how often my mind works ahead of itself. In other words, I tend to think in long range terms for stuff, like what will happen two years from now if that thing or this doesn’t fall into place the way I want it to. What will next week bring if changes to certain personalities don’t occur, how will I manage all the details needed to get through the holidays, health opportunities, blogging growth I want to achieve and yadda, yadda, yadda.
Often I feel like I forget how to just breathe. That’s something I’m trying to really achieve, just live in the space I’m in for right now. Plans for this blog have come and gone, changed, matured and changed again. My hope is that all of this will ultimately result in a vibrant blog space where you feel at home. A place to find interesting discussions, timely information, something to mentally “chew” on and where all freely share their thoughts.
As Success Chronicle continues to grow, I would greatly appreciate your taking time to let me know what you want to see here? Do you agree with the things I say? Am I wrong about a certain viewpoint or is there more to the conversation I haven’t considered? What are some of the obstacles to your own success? What have you learned? Talk to me, let me know. This blog was created to be of service to you. Tell me what you want.
Until next time,

Meditation Motivation
Meditation by its definition is the art of practiced, yet concentrated focus. It is the act of inner listening, an awareness of even the slightest sound. Combined with clear visualizations and rhythmically controlled breathing, it is the search for deeper awareness of the here and now itself.
The practice of deep contemplation or meditation has existed down through the ages and is very familiar to many groups and individuals. In its original intended form, meditation was an important part of spiritual, cultural and religious ceremonies. It became part of the tradition as a tool for developing greater spiritual understanding.
According to passionate supporters, the benefits of meditation are without question. One of the most prominent benefits is the fact that meditation has proven to be an excellent stress reducer. A deeper level of relaxation is said to be achieved from the action of looking inward. This is beneficial because it assists in both spiritual growth and personal enhancement. Although the roots of meditation are steeped in religious practices and cultural traditions, it is an activity that can and should be practiced by anyone.
In today’s society there are numerous styles, forms and variations of meditation. There are Buddhists who meditate while sitting, Christian orders who prefer to contemplate, and a religious order called the Sufi who are more interested in twirling movements. Despite their preferences however, all have the similar goal of experiencing “ultimate reality.”
The link between the mind, body and healing has long been established. This mind and body connection is not a totally new concept. Despite awareness of it however, the medical community has only recently come to terms with the use of meditation in patient recovery.
If meditation seems like something you might like to try, here are a few resources to get you started.

First, heart felt thanks to all current, and newly added followers of this blog and my Twitter tweets. Life has been life, so I’ve had to take better care of myself, a possible serious health issue, and a decision regarding the fate of my daughters by going away from the internet for a bit.
Now that my young adult has left the nest for his own apartment, that means me and the feline creature are together all day. She’s a real sweetheart, but she’s also very time consuming, requiring a minimum of 1,000 rubs, pick me ups, or attentive “cat-versations ” per day. Sigh. Rel (my soul mate) keeps telling me I should have listened to him and gotten a poster (but then I would have missed all the comic relief).
Today, I decided to dedicate this post to her and a few lessons to be learned if I look hard enough. My “kick in the C.A.N.” idea for a post is thus credited to Ms. TK.
C… Is for creativity and commitment. In business, relationships, careers or life, re-invention of myself has been something I’ve had to constantly do. Going for the things that have been important for my growth has not ever been easy.Commitment in the face of odds appearing insurmountable is what has kept me moving forward. Perhaps you can relate to this as well.As I watch TK constantly change strategies on the fly, figure out new ways to demand the same things, or carefully analyze the distance between objects prior to jumping, I realize how close to us humans they really are.
A… Alert Activity. Can I even count the times my komakazi cat has patiently waited silently in the dark, stalking my wiggling toes? After play, many times I’ve forgotten we were even in a game… until I wander past TK half an hour later and have my legs attacked, because she was still actively alert waiting on the perfect opportunity. Selecting the right opportunities and best times to take immediate action can serve me well too. When I think of laser like focus, I have TK to thank for showing me what that really is. Can you other pet owners relate to this too?
N…Nine lives. Because cats have a strong sense of balance, if they fall from a high distance, its a piece of cake for them to assess their positions making any required adjustments while they are in the process of falling. Their bodies have the ability to cushion them a bit from the fall. Not so easy for me to do that. Many times I have to sit back for a minute and recover from the impact before figuring out what I want or need to do next. Having the ability to think and react on the spot , precisely move around obstacles and navigate their environments are incredible assets.Like cats, I am extremely curious and love learning new things. My ten year old son is the same way. He asks so many questions that I don’t know the answers to, that now I just Google whatever it is and answer him because I got tired of him making me (a highly intelligent being) feel stupid. No matter what situations in life you’re navigating, try to approach them from a position of creativity, are there other ways to view them? Are there any new or untried actions that might affect the outcome of a particular situation or challenge? Are you being focused enough on the right thing or are you possibly missing opportunities that are there in front of you? Taking immediate action is sometimes better than wallowing in doubt and indecision. One of my favorite quotes is by Tony Robbins, “Never leave the scene of a decision without taking action.”
Hope you enjoyed the photos too.

Promoted on their http://mlmteleclass.com site as “Training Without Traveling” this teleclass site is new to me. My first visit via email invitation looks promising. I saw links to sign up for classes on “Financial stress reduction” with Chellie Campbell, “How to build powerful relationships and connect with anyone” from Larry Benet, “Building your life and business on purpose” with Dr. Brad Swift and much more.
Lately I’ve been really bad with scheduling things and keeping online appointments for things such as teleclasses, webinars and teleseminars. My kids have football (thank you so much universe that my son can now stop driving me crazy asking how much longer, how much longer…) cheerleading, and therapy schedules so I’m all over the place… happily waiting on the two to three hours of blessed bliss as my children belong attitudes and mind entirely to their coaches.

Stepping outside my zones of comfort has been difficult the last few months. I know this is largely because I can’t sleep. So, why can’t I sleep? I’m exhausted as everything, but seem to be driven like a mad woman to get something accomplished towards my personal and business goals each day in spite of life’s chaos. At this point, I’ve admitted it would take ten clones of myself and at least fifteen years to see the end of the deadlines I’ve been trying to catch up to.
So, here’s what I am going to do. Today I have decided to stop “efforting” or trying to make heaven and earth move by sheer force of my will. My daughter Sadie was reading several life cards out loud from new decks I bought this year. They were, “Goddess Guidance Oracle Cards, Magical Unicorns Oracle Cards and Mermaids and Dolphins” by Doreen Virtue, “The Perfect Calm Deck, 50 Exercises To Soothe Mind And Body” by Duncan Baird Publishers, Ltd, “Ask Me” and Contemplation Oracle Cards, A Deck of 54 Cards” by Susan Woldman.
My eyes opened wider as she continued. The cards she was reading directly related to things that were happening in her life and many of the personal challenges she was having. I was blown away at their accuracy. Several times I raised my eyebrows at her to hear, “Mommmm!” She knew they were hitting the nail on the head too. The messages were making her angry because she knew they were areas she struggled with daily.
That experience helped me see my own lack of balance. Spinning here and there has taken a huge toll. Partially, that’s why I stepped away from this blog for a few days, to get perspective. The vastness that is the internet is totally overwhelming when you feel you’re in a losing game of “catch-up.” Rather than speed up more if that’s even possible, the need was to step away.
I’m looking forward to growing this site with the help and feedback of every single reader who is willing to share. Let me know what challenges you’re facing in your own lives, I’ll always be here to offer encouragement and support. As Bryce, one of my new online friends says, sometimes you just need to know someone else cares.
I’m not sure where this new journey of discovery will take us, or how long it will take. I’m totally following the Universe on this one. You can be sure of this however, it’s going to be wicked fun so stay tuned…
